Ferrous Team - Week 4


Completed this week::

  • Game UI:
    • Game pause menu working with controller and WASD/Arrow Keys
  • Implemented
    • Added visual feedback for stasis mechanic
    • Generated multiple paper puzzle iterations
    • Decided on formal idea for mechanics and completed implementation: one blocks mirrors the force applied to the main block and the other block has a reversed version of the force applied to it.
    • Created puzzle rooms with proper textures with working pressure plates that can be configured to only activate when all are pressed.
    • Implemented walking, idle, jumping, and magnetic ability animation cycles
    • Created a new playable level utilizing the new push / pull mechanic and puzzle ideas.
  • Art:
    • Animations & textures for jumping, idle & moving magnetic ability usage
    • Settings & Main Menu UI completed
    • Models for exit sign, door, walls completed

Obstacles and/or Blockers:

  • Level design ideation

Important Discoveries:

  • new puzzle design: will be fun to work with and generate puzzles / ideas with
  • adding restrictions onto our mechanics can make the game more interesting

Next Steps:

  • Refactor a lot of the code written this week,  a bit rushed and messy
  • Utilize new input system for unity
  • complete animation and model implementation for alpha build
  • Continue iterating on CCCs
